A workshop for Refugee Week on the theme of Courage
Join Artists, Jill Eastland, Redell Olsen and Susan Mealing to make handmade books, using drawing, text and collage. Take the books away with you and or contribute to books that we will continue to make, to educate people about the courage that it takes to be a refugee. Courage is of increasing importance for refugees and those who support them and we can learn from listening to the voices of those with firsthand experience.
The workshop gives priority to people who are Asylum Seekers and Refugees but also invites Migrants and People who support refugees. It is open to women, including trans women and non binary people.
The image shows Mojgan’s Journey. She exhibited extreme courage on her journey as a refugee. She pretended with her sister, that she was going on a Disney style camping holiday, in order to survive the ordeal.
